Inclusivity

  • “Being someone in a larger (obese) body, for many years I’ve thought of exercise as a route to a more socially acceptable body. In the past, I’ve worked with trainers, and the agreement was always that they’d bully me into pushing my body further than I would bully my body on my own. Working with Zoe I’ve realized that working out should be a loving communication with my body, not a punishment. If you’re actually listening to yourself, you can see where your boundaries are (probably further out than you realized), and you can trust you won’t push past your boundaries. It feels more fun and much more safe, and it’s still one heck of a workout!”

  • “Working with Zoe has transformed how I look at "working out" and what that means to me, my body, and my mindset. A little about me. I have been working out at a gym irregularly since university. I run when the weather gets nice a few times a week, and I walk a lot in general. Over the pandemic, I got into a very consistent routine of working out at home. I focused primarily on weight training because, in all honesty, I did not pay much attention to anything else.  Since doing personal training with Zoe at the beginning of September 2022, I've noticed a shift in how I view my health from the perspective of movement. It's not just about lifting weights and getting swole. Zoe has incorporated mobility, stretching, functional lifting, and high-intensity training into a program that makes me feel better about my overall body. Can I lift more than I did previously in some areas? Yes. Has my overall shoulder mobility improved as well? Absolutely!
